Robin is bound and determined to remedy that situation by becoming a star instead of a sidekick. With a few madcap ideas and a song in their hearts, the Teen Titans head to Hollywood to fulfill their dreams. Things soon go awry, however, when a supervillain plans to take over the planet — putting the very fate of the young heroes on the line. TO THE MOVIES All Critics (133) | Top Critics (30) | Fresh (121) | Rotten (12) The Hollywood Teen Titans Go! initially looks more progressive than its real-life counterpart – but the climax gives this a rather different spin. September 18, 2018 | Rating: 3/5 | Full Review… Jake WilsonThe Age (Australia) TOP CRITIC Teen Titans Go! To the Movies is simultaneously a send-up of superhero movies and an homage to them, a spinoff whose music is infectious and jokes are consistently funny. August 14, 2018 | Rating: 3/5 | Full Review… Tara BradyIrish Times TOP CRITIC It’s encouraging to see someone at DC approaching this material as an opportunity for colourful fun rather than a grim matter of rights maintenance. August 3, 2018 | Rating: 3/5 | Full Review… Mike McCahillGuardian TOP CRITIC Smart and stupid in equal measure, this is a palate cleanser after the doom and gloom of Justice League. The Titans could make you fall back in love with the entire DC Universe. August 2, 2018 | Rating: 4/5 | Full Review… Helen O’HaraEmpire Magazine TOP CRITIC Teen Titans Go! To The Movies may be unflaggingly daft, but outright silliness is rarely this smart. August 2, 2018 | Rating: 4/5 | Full Review… Robbie CollinDaily Telegraph (UK) TOP CRITIC Teen Titans Go! To the Movies still has a lot of joy in it, especially for the superhero-obsessed who are comfortable enough in their obsession to laugh at it. April 13, 2021 | Full Review… Ian BrillBattleship Pretension Thanks to its giddy sense of humour and wicked wit, this is a surprising leap to the big screen for the Titans that doesn’t play it easy, often going out of its way to make the whole audience laugh, regardless of age or familiarity with the characters. August 30, 2020 | Rating: 4/5 | Full Review… Andrew GaudionTHN [T]he issue is that with gags so mile-a-minute — and a pace so blindingly fast — Teen Titans exhausts even an 84-minute runtime. July 25, 2020 | Rating: 3/5 | Full Review… Matt CipollaFilm Monthly If there is one superhero film you take the kids to this summer, Teen Titans Go! To The Movies should be your number one choice purely for the amount of fun that will appeal to both sets of audience goers but for the pure audacity. July 22, 2020 | Rating: 4/5 | Full Review… Zehra PhelanFlavourmag One of those movies where it’s hard to even break down. See it and enjoy it for what it is. TO THE MOVIES Jan 20, 2019 I’m pretty sure this was ghostwritten by Jodie Foster. “The Teen Titans will never get a movie!” – Quote from a Teen Titans movie, the third released in as many years. Gimly MSUPER REVIEWER Dec 10, 2018 Reasons to see Teen Titans Go! To the Movies: 1) The “Circle of Life” lampoon 2) Singing Michael Bolton Rainbow Tiger 3) Utilizes a Huey Lewis classic Also, the way in which it breaks down the thoughts and ideas of more super hero-aware viewers, and likely this movie’s biggest audience, in a way that makes them feel both special and elevated while at the same time taking a crack at what they hold so dear is an impeccable balancing act the movie pulls off for the entirety of its brief running time. SHOW MORE Philip PSUPER REVIEWER Nov 11, 2018 Clever and somewhat original film that takes the whole superhero concept to the next level. The film doesn’t outstay its welcome and is quite funny throughout but the songs and humour are more directed to the target audience. Adults will have to look into the background for the pop culture humour and the depth of superheroes is quite fun. Including Jack Kirby’s obsure characters and his team mate at Marvel Stan Lee was a fun nod to the genre. The film is strictly for kids but adults won’t be terribly bored like many other films. 11/11/18 SHOW MORE Brendan NSUPER REVIEWER Oct 11, 2018 Okay, yeah, a movie for the younglings (yes, I still find that funny, so sue me), but if, as an adult, you feel prepared for an hour or so of silliness poking fun at the uber-seriousness of most caped crusader epics, then you can’t find much that is as good as this juvie-but-loving-it take. Robin worries that no one thinks of him as anything more than a joke and thus conjectures that a movie deal will increase his respect factor. So many jokes that if there’s a bad one it’s quickly forgotten. I really enjoyed the bad guy too. SHOW MORE Kevin M.
